Cherry Pineapple Sauce

This colorful sauce makes a good glaze for chicken or ham.

1/4 cup Light Brown Sugar, firmly packed

1 tablespoon Cornstarch

1/4 cup Honey Mustard

3/4 cups Maple-flavored Syrup

10 oz. (1 jar) Maraschino Cherries, drained and halved

8 oz. (1 can) Pineapple Tidbits in juice, undrained


Combine brown sugar and cornstarch in medium saucepan. Gradually stir in honey mustard and maple-flavored syrup; mix until smooth.

Add cherries and pineapple with juice. Bring to a boil over medium heat; cook, stirring frequently, until thickened. Reduce heat; simmer 1 minute, stirring frequently. To use as a chicken or ham glaze, allow sauce to cool 4 to 5 minutes.

Remove chicken or ham from oven 30 minutes before the end of cooking time recommended on the package. Brush sauce evenly over surface of warm chicken or ham. Bake glazed chicken or ham.
